GEN Philippines Partners with Impact Hub to Promote the World’s Largest Hackathon
GEN Philippines is supporting Impact Hub Manila in its official attempt to break a Guinness World Record for organizing the largest hackathon in the world this October 30 and 31.
Dubbed as Impact Hackathon, the 24-hour codefest aims to catalyze the impact entrepreneurship system in the Philippines, all while providing solutions to pressing problems in the sectors of climate change, agriculture, education, health, and smart cities.
Together with the government, private, and start-up sector, the event aspires to put the Philippines on the map as a tech innovation hub that embraces progressiveness and inclusivity.
The reverse hackathon will happen in 15 cities across the Philippines through a live feed situated in the main venue, Smart Araneta Coliseum! The coding marathon itself will begin at 12:00 noon of October 30 and will go on until 12:00 noon of the following day.
“We are very proud to be part of this important event in the Philippine startup community. Through the Impact Hackathon, we hope to be able to raise entrepreneurial awareness in our country,” says Henry Ong, Managing Director of GEN Philippines.
“This event is also very timely as we celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week next month” Ong adds.
