Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Philippines has submitted four entries to represent Philippines to the GEW Startup Open. Gen8.ph, Tudlo.me, Cyburban.org and PageSnapp will try to get spots in the Global top 50 startups.
A startup company founded by young ladies, Gen8.ph develops and builds technologies to improve the lives of people with disabilities. Janiena Roxanne D.C. Dirain, Kristine Emy O. Matabang and Girly G. Perando project is entitled “Wearable Obstacle Detection System and Braille Cell Phone for the Blind”. The team aims to help the blind through high impact researches and innovative designs. Gen8 was incorporated on June 20, 2013.
Kristoffer Vincent M. Loremia, Raffy Englis, Eman Daryl Ycot and Lester Cabalona founded Tudlo with the idea of solving an issue of every individual that has to deal with hazards, accidents, emergencies, disasters, catastrophes and other unexpected events in human life. The company provides a state-of-the-art web and mobile application designed to be usable on the best smart phones, tablets and PCs commercialized so far. Tudlo Disaster and Emergency App aim to help individuals to be ready at any moment and give guidance all the way when disaster occurs.
Cyburban is a location-based casual adventure game. It was founded by a game master and a game builder, and was incorporated on September 3, 2013. Aristotle Bancale and Andrew Alegre’s mission is to help people remember how it feels to be a kid again. It is a Content Management System (CMS) for event marketers and tour guides. Cyburban is a DIY “Amazing Race” for mobile gadgets wherein users can add puzzles, riddles, location-based trivia, QR code scanning, GPS check-ins, and Internet-based challenges to events without additional personnel.
PageSnapp is a service that transforms a Facebook Page into a mobile commerce application instantly. It was incorporated in the Philippines last July 12, 2013. For the team behind the PageSnapp, social commerce is the next big thing, and mobile is the future. Marvin Consuegra, Rolly Rulete, Raymund Delfin and Jay Albano aim to help mobilize businesses through offering an affordable solution for small businesses to go mobile commerce.
Startup Open, a featured event of GEW, is a global competition to identify and recognize startup companies founded between GEW 2013 and GEW 2013.
